GISBORNE-BORN AIRMAN (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. Official advice has been received by Air Headquarters, Wellington, that the distinguished Flying Cross has been awarded to Pnot-Officer Arthur Ashworth. Pilot-Officer Ashworth was born at Gisborne in 1920. educated at the Alexandra District High School and was employed in aerodrome services of the Public Works Department prior to his selection for short service commission. He received his early training at Rongotai immediately after the outbreak of war. His next-of-kin is Mrs. E. M. Ashworth (mother l , of Alexandra.
