Dr. A. McUiTUOr Grant, present to see his own horse Pertinax in. liis schooling. was nearby when the mishap occurred, and he at once went to Turvey's assistance. The jockey was rushed to the ambuian -o room, where his broken leji was treated, auvl thence to the Auckland Hospital.
