REMUERA MAKES GOOD PROGRESS

A healthy slate of affairs was revealed at the monthly smoke-oh of the Remuera Club last Saturday when there was an attendance of something like 200. ably presided over by president Donald. The club is fortunate in the progressive officebearers it possesses, and the programme it has mapped out will require all their business acumen. Like so many other organisations of its kind the Remuera Club is severely handicapped in the inadequacy of its accommodation, but a building scheme has been planned and, with an eye to the return of the men of the 2nd N.Z.E.F., matters are bf ing rushed ahead with all possible speed. The club is also fortunate in having a very energetic Indies' committee, whose work for the benefit of the wives and families of men now on service is deservedly commendable.

In spite of recent increase in membership, there must be many returned soldiers in the district who are not actively connected with the club, and it is up to them to lend a hand, remembering their own experiences when they returned from the war.
