PARTY POLITICS? .... TELL THEM THERE'S A WAR ON! s/ymo§L I Arm *$@&%&o*z* ' % Jr *< *I . l*U =- * -~3 -m- f *£" w •-■ ■ - u m U FOR IIMITy PUT PARTY POIITICS ASIDE FOB THE DURATIOH We have our hands full fighting a war overseas—we don't want a political wor on the home front. We can't afford a party battle now. Is it fair to the men overseas? Is it fair to the cause to which we have pledged every ounce of our effort, every penny of our savings? Our greatest strength in this war is our united determination and our pooling of resources in money, material and man-power. Unity is not only our strength, it is our main weapon. Mare, it is our war aim. PARTY POLITICS MAY DESTROY ALL THIS! An election will divide the people into opposing political camps. It will revive all the old party controversies and will raise as burning issues the domestic political platforms of the rival parties. How Can we Fight a War in this Waif? How Can we Keep Faith with the Men Overseas? . THERE IS ONLY ONE ANSWER! We must have a National Government—NOW ! We must POSTPONE THE ELECTIONS ! We must PUT PARTY POLITICS ASIDE—FOR THE DURATION. WHAT YOU Thc p «opk's Movement has arranflad a deputation representing many organisation*, CAN DO public bodies and citizens of all parties to present to the Government and the Opposition a respectful request that a National Government be formed immediately and that the elections be postponed. Will you Act Now? AH organsations, public bodies and citizens, irrespective of party, are urged to support this deputation. Women are specially invited. The need for true National Unity is urgent and imperative. We must convince the Parry Leaders of the people's desire. They have not achieved unity within themselves. Therefore, the people must mediate. This is the last chance. WHERE DO YOU STAND? FOR COUNTRY OR FOR PARTY? THE RESPONSIBILITY IS YOURS! FOLLOW BRITAIN'S LEAD! The Deputation will meet in Wellington on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20th. All those who desire to be represented or who wish to join the deputation are asked to communicate with: The Hon.
