FOOD FLOWN TO GREECE

WOUXDED OP AIAj ARMIES BriTislJ Official Wireless. RUGBY, July 31. A cablegram received on Wednesday by the British Red Cross from the International Red Cross Committee at Geneva, states that supplies of concentrated food extracts are being sent by air mail into Greece for the use of the wounded of all armies. The German Red Cross has arranged for the aerial transport of these supplies. The cablegram emphasises the seriousness of the food position in Greece, and states that interrupted rail services make it impossible to send food parcels from Geneva to Allied prisoners in Greece. The closest contact, however, is being maintained with the British Embassy at Ankara, Turkey, by the International Red Cross and the British Red Cross, and every endeavour is being made to get lood across from Turkey to the Red Cross delegate in Athens for distribution.

A credit of £10.000 for this purpose was sent to the British Minister in Ankara several days ago, and further credits will be arranged whenever necessary.
