DECISION MADE
HUNGER STRIKERS War Cabinet Announcement To-morrcw » United Tn'ss Association. —Copyright. Ilea 2 p.m. MELBOURNE, this day. The Prime Minister of Australia, Mf. R. G. Menzies, late last night said the War Cabinet had come to a decision with regard to the hunger strikers, but he would not announce it until to-day. A Sydney .nessage states that Dr. Evatt, M.P., in commenting on the Government's handling of the hunger strikers' case, said a serious blunder had been made. "Whatever were the Communist activities of the two men, the authorities knew all about them last December, when they chose to prosecute and not intern them. "ATter serving their sentence they were released, and not until some time later were they again detained with a view to internment, although no further offence was charged against them. "These facts raise the question of a general principle, with which the Minister has made no attempt to deal."
