LIBRARY LEAGUE
MAYORESS WELCOMED In honour of tlie Mayoress, Mrs. J. A. C. Allum, who is the new president of the organisation, members of the Mayoress' War Memorial Library League held a tea party in George Court's tea rooms yesterday. The 70 guests were members of the executive and representatives of the various organisations belonging to the league. The secretary, Mrs. E. McNair. who presented Mrs. Allum with a shoulder spray of cyclamens, welcomed the Mayoress to her new position as president of the league and briefly explained its work. Other speakers were Mrs. A. D. Campbell, Mrs. F. C. Webster and Miss A. H. G. Basten. Mrs. Allum thanked the members for their hospitality and assured them of their help in the work they were carrying out. The executive members present were: Mrs. McNair. Mrs. A. D. Campbell. Mrs. Preston Chambers, Mrs. A. H. Turner, Mrs. D. McKenzie, Mrs. Hewitson, Mrs. F. C. Webster. Mrs. A. Nicholson, Miss Phillips and Miss Patterson.
