The work should be completed in about a month, j At present the Westfield supply is drawn from the reservoir on Mount Hobson. Last summer the draw-off was so heavy that restrictions had to be placed on supplies for the Remuera and surrounding districts 'A decision was then made to make the Westfield supply an independent [one. I The main-laving work is being carried out by an Auckland City Council staff, and has not been without difficulties. Apparently, at some time in the past, the railway embankment near the bridge on Remuera Road had been ut-ed as a dumping ground for waste materia.'
