DECREASE IN APRIL

Exports during April were valued at £5,561,000, or £2,852,000 less than in the corresponding month last year, according to the return of overseas tiade for the month, a summary of which was issued by the Customs Department in Wellington to-day. April imports were down by £505,000 to £3,559,000. The excess of exports was £1,702,000 against £4,059.000 in that month in 1910.
