CArTURED OX RAXGITANE
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Monday. An official Air Force casualty list issued to-day stated that advice has been received from the International Red Cross that the following airmen, previously reported missing from the Rangitane, are now prisoners of war in Germany:—
BROWN. Wallace Cricbton —Mr. Douglas Brown, Nelson (father). DALEY. William Albert—Mrs. M. Daicy, Gore (mother). FOX. Albert Richard Evans—Mr. A. Fox, Invercarcill (lather). HUNT. Francis Iveson Robeson—His mothcl lltcs at Gisborne. LEWIS. Henry Roderick—Mrs. A. M. Lewis, Auckland (mother). MacDONALD, Arthur George—Mrs. J. M&cDonald (wife). MURRAY. John Donald—Mr. G. W. Murrajr, Ashbur ton (father). SHEARER, Keith William—Mr. G. A. Shearer. Te Kuiti (father). SOMMERVILLE, Geoffrey Field—Mrs. E. I». Sommcrvillc, Raetihi (mother). HARDEN, Billy Noel (acting Pilot-Offlcer)—Mr. C. J. Harden, Auckland (father). KIMBERLEY, Harold Maynard (acting PilotOtTlcer >—Archdeacon Kimberley, Nelson (lather). SHAW, lan James (acting Pilot-Officer) —Mr. L. B. Shaw, Auckland (father). No advice has yet been received concerning Alan Fitzgerald Jones, who was also reported missing and later believed to be a prisoner of war from the Ransitanc. His mother is Mrs. Clare Jones, Pahiatua.
The Rangitane was shelled and sunk by enemy raiders in the South Pacific in the early morning of November 27, IA4O.
