OELDOM if ever has there been a more •J spectacular entry into Auckland representative football than that of Eric George Boggs, who plaved on the wing against the Waikato XV. on June 2 at Hamilton. This is the first season that Boggs has played in senior footballin fact, at the time of selection he had played only two games—and. further, he had not played Rugby since he captained Vooo ota i l^ u « Technical Hi Sk School in 1938 and 1939. Hockey has been Boggs' favourite sport in the interim. In 1939. after playing Rugby in the morning, he donned a Somerville hockey jersey in the afternoon and he became an Auckland B representative in 1939 and again won a place in the rep. side the next season. On going to the Training College last year, he continued playing hockey. but this season decided to go back to Rugby with a singularly successful result.
