PARNELL PREPARED
FIRST AID STATIONS
Realistic exercises were carried out by the Parnell area first aid organisation under the Emergency Precautions Scheme when an inspection of the three main aid posts in the district was made last night by Lieutenant-Colonel J. Hardie Neil, D.5.0., who was accompanied by the chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, Mr. Allan J. Moody, Dr. Hilda Northcroft and Dr. H. A. Cooper. The party was attended by committee members and officers of the St. John Ambulance Association.
Ambulances and stretcher parties were in attendance at the posts at the Methodist Church, Parnell Rise Knox Hall, Birdwood Crescent and Parnell School, St. Stephen's Avenue Lieutenant-Colonel Hardie Neil commented* upon the fine equipment of the stations and their preparedness for any large-scale emergency. The post at Knox Hall was especially notable, being turned into a complete emergency hospital with beds.
