Owing to difficulties imposed by the war, the daily press is compelled to reduce the amount of space devoted to racing, but the "N.Z. Farmer Weekly" has been able to maintain and develop this valuable section. All the Important News Published each week under the general title of "Stud and Race Track," these pages are conducted by recognised authorities on the pedigree and performance of the thoroughbred. A weekly review of Australian racing, all important news from overseas, and comments on New Zealand trotting complete the section. Appreciation of Readers The paper has reason to be proud of the reputation which the "Stud and Race Track" pages have established among owners and breeders throughout the country. Extracts from a few of many letters received show the appreciation of readers, as well as the interest and profit they have derived from regular reading of this particular feature. "I am sending this note to say how much 1 enjoy reading the rocinc and breeding notes in the 'New Zealand Farmer' under the name of 'Blair Athol.' I was talking to someone at Wcirokei obout them the other day, and my t*iend agreed with me that these columns should be more forcibly brought before men interested in racing. I am sure that if racing owners were circularised, and specimen pages sent to them, they would be glod to subscribe to such very interesting matter."—Hon Eliot R. Davis.
