Although shorter than la*: week's run a good variety o! country was covered I UNIVERSITY CLUB There was a lair attendance o* harriers at the weekly run of .he University Harrier Club this afternoon when a five-mile course embrar. Ins the Remuera and St. Heller's district* was negotiated. Runnins with the club were two visitors (rom the Ellerslie club. A. F. Stanley secretary of the Auckland Harrirr Sub-Commit-tee. and U. M. Harris, both of whom displaced particularly good form. Harris Is better known as Auckland s outstanding half-mllcr. his run of 1.57 last season stamping him as one of the creates', runners over that distance yet produced In the province. For a newcomer to harrier raring. Han Is moved particularly well and h'.s appearance will grraUy strengthen Auckland harrier ranks. Of the University athletes. M. MrKcr.r.ic was the most prominent and his cfTort was vcrv little behind that of Harris' in merit. OI the others. J. G. Millar, a promising junior, was the best. r.nd his cfTorts give an Indication o! his turning out a really good runner.
