EARLY MORNING ASSAULT
MOTOR DRIVER IX TROUBLE
"It is not much good losing your temper and assaulting a taxi driver when you find the person you are looking for is not m the car,' , said Mr. F. H. Levien. S.M., in the Police Court, to-day, to Harold Victor Davies, a mo f tor driver, in fining him £3 for assaulting William Henry Watson, and a further £2 10/ for using obscene language. Mr. F. W. Schramm represented Davies, who pleaded not guilty to the two summons charges. The incident occurred in Union Street about 1 a.m. on March 20. There was a conflict of evidence, the complainant stating that Davies struck him first, while defendant's story was that Watson struck him first and then hit him with a torch.
