"NO NEED TO PANIC"
(0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. Speaking on the outbreak of meningitis Dr. T. R. Ritchie, Director of Public Hygiene, who has iioen in the area consulting with the ucal medical officer of health, Dr. G. o. L. Dempster, and army officers, '■oncerning steps being taken to present the spread of tlfe disease, said: There is no need for the public to lanic. Spasmodic cases of meningitis occur in New Zealand, and besides the outbreak at Kawakawa there are three other cases in the country. Although these cases have been reported from other districts there is no evidence of a widespread outbreak.
