LIQUOR AT DANCE
Three bottles of beer cost the owner about 26/ each at Papakura yesterday because they were found by the police in a dance hall. The owner, Thomas William Reginald Jones, a projectionist at a local cinema, appeared in the Papakura Police Court on a charge of being the owner of three quart bottles of beer which were found inside his suitcase, near the stage door during a dance. Defendant said that as he worked at the theatre he thought he had the privilege of putting what he liked in his bag. The magistrate. Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., thought otherwise and fined Jones 70/ plus costs 10/.
