IMMIGRANTS
I was greatly Interested to an article appearing in the « German immigrants to this country It stated that 12 times as many Germans had arrived for the year ending March 31, 1940, than any fit* previous years. How many times have we read in the papers since fce war began of Hitler's scheme offending Germans In the guise of tourists into Czechoslovakia. France, HoOandt etc. and establishing themselves as harmless citizens, when an the white they were agents for HiUer, preparing the way and getting a foothold so that he may enter each country as lie wished. It is time New Zeeland woke up. People Jlke tins should be banned under any circumstances from entering the country. what use is our home defence to guard our shoreswwhetn t for all Hβ know our country is being undermined under our very eyes. It is aB very well these "Don't talk" tactics and "Don't trust your next-door neighbour." so to speak, when n* are trusting enough to allow people lite this into our country. In any case, they are taking our boys jobs while they are away fighting for us. That alone should be enough reason to keep them out. So let us do our bit by keeping New Zealand for onr OVk "n- ■ MAPLE LEAF. ■ I
