LEGAL INQUIRY COLUMN
SCHOOL TYPEWRITERS. Owing to a shortage of typewriters for urgent War Department needs, 14 district high schools in the Auckland district are to be asked each to supply one serviceable machine to the Government. A telegram from the Department of Education in Wellington, received by the Auckland Education Board at a meeting this morning, requested the board to ask each school concerned to label the machine with the name of the school and deliver it urgently to the nearest post office for dispatch to the District Storekeeper. P. and T., Auckland. The schools to be asked to supplytypewriters are those at Howick, Kaikohe, Matamata, Northcote, Otorohonga, Paeroa, Putaruru, Rawene. Ruawai, Taumaranui, Te Aroha, Te Puke, Waihi and Waiuku.
