MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD. The fortnightly meeting of the board was presided over by the chairman, Mr. c. M McCuljough. Financial.—The general account is in credit, £1019. Traffic Control.—The City Council advised that It is not prepared at. presei-.t to consider providing traffic control in the beards district. Fire Board Representative. —The board decided to nominate Mr. C. M. McCullotigh for a seat on the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board Stamp Collection.—The Auckland Provincial Patriotic Committee asked the board to dispatch all used stamps to the central collecting station at the Town Hall. The board agreed to accede to the request. Permits.—Building permits to the value of £6224 have been Issued during the past fortnight. Eighteen buildings are In course of erection in the district, exclusive of State houses.

Concrete Footpa'.hs. — A total of 10.158 square yards have been completed during the past 12 months.

Annual Meeting. —The board deckled to hold the annual meeting of ratepayers on Thursday. May 15.

PAPAKUEA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The Mayor, Mr. S Evans presided at the fortnightly meeting or the Papakura Borough Council.

Union Jack Presented.-The Mayor announced the gift to the Council of a iull-M.-.ed bunting Union Jack from the relatives of the late Mr. A. Donald, of Drury. The flag was used lor the first time at the Anne Day ceremony. The council decided to pend an appreciative letter of thanks.

Sealing Railway Parking Area.—The works committees recommends.'km to seal the main portion of the parking area lendlnc to the suburban platform at the Papakura railway station in Railway Street West was approved. A decision to seal the corner of Wairoa Road and Railway military authorities, who staled trial soldiers marching to the station found it difficult to keep in step on this particularly rough scoria and metal corner.

Physical Welfare Officer's Thanks.—A letter of thanks to the Borough Council lor their co-opera-tion in allowing Ihe Papakura Girls' Baseball Club the use of Prince Edward Park and lighting facilities was received from the Physical Welfare Officer. Miss Gladys M. Gebbic. of the physical welfare and recreation branch of the Department of Internal Affairs, who intimated that the club had completed its seuon.
