NORTHCOTE ELECTION.
LABOUR BRANCH'S DECISION. The decision of a number of people to offer a compromise to the Xortheote branch of the New Zealand Labour party to avoid an election in the borough was considered at the monthly meeting of the branch last evening-. The question was fully discussed and the following resolution carried unanimously: '"An offer made by an unknown body through Mr. C. P. Roberts, its not acceptable to the Xortheote branch of,the New Zealand Labour party, as we are of the opinion that a body without either name, organisation or standing in the district cannot give a pledge on behalf of the electors of Xortheote."'
