(0.C.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. A special committee reporting to thf Labour party conference on a remit urging the Government to take linsurance companies recommended tMwhile agreeing with the principle in volved. no immediate action be taken.
Another remit, suggesting that the surrender value of insurance policies '* 100 per cent of the premiums paid aft?r five rears, was rejected as impractical '■ but the committee recommended that tnc question of surrender values be reviewe bv the Government.
The following remits were recommended for Government consideration: A commission to inquire into tbe ac i*i ties of insurance companies; the con ro of industrial insurance policies; adoptm? the Victorian Government's systemi w industrial insurance; a more ac ' x< * policy by the Government Insurance J part mcut: action to compel fire insurant companies to pay the full amount ol 1 " sura lice.
