FIERCE WHIRLWIND.
WESTPORT DAMAGE. VERANDAH FRONTS WRECKED. (P.A.) WESTPORT, Sunday. An electrical storm at 6.25 this morn- j ing was followed by a whirlwind which swept diagonally across the town. The whirlwind levelled wireless aerials, broke windows, removed verandah fronts of business premises, smashed trees, ripped iron off roofs, demolished some outbuilding* of homes, and smashed down fences. At .Sergeant's Hill it shifted the railway station and ail outhouse. The storm was quickly over, but it was very disturbing while it lasted and will make Easter Sunday, April 13, a 'nemorablo day for many people whose csidcnces auffered.
