U.S. MILLIONAIRES.
(Reed. 10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 4. Forty-two persons paid income taxes on individual incomes of 1,000,000 dollars or more last year. The number of 1,000,000-dollar incomes was eight fewer! than in the preceding year, but experts attributed the change to technical factors in reporting capital gains. The 42 paid a total of 46,000,000 dolliSs" Federal income tax on 1939 incomes. The millionaire crop last year wa& about average for recent years, but v< fur short of the record of 513 who paid 3!M ,000,000 dollars in taxci on 1929 incomes.
