Then, again, there was a feeling that there was little to justify the expense of holding a meeting. Members agreed that the opinions of unions should be sought, find it was decided that the unions be asked, in view of expense and hick of business, if they were agreeable to the conference (annual meeting) beinjjr (-impended or if they favoured it boing hold on a limited seaie, caoli sending not more than one visiting delegate (the expense of the delegates to be paid b-- the respective unions). The result of the vote showed that those who desired a meeting of delegate* wero in a minority. Auckland and Wellington were anions the unions in favour of holding the meeting as usual. The executive met yesterday afternoon, and made iU decision. Commenting on- thc decision Mr. S. S. Dean (chairman) said that there was nothing much that could be done at the present time, and he di<l not think the holding of the annual meeting would help any more. There wero points for and against. and the question of arranging representative matches and tours within the country was one on which delegates could meet with lnvicfit. For his own part he had quite an open mind on the matter, though he thought that perhaps thv-y could have nominated delegates for a restrict <] meeting.
