An appeal to Roman Catholic (id-many to awake and face the pagan tendencies which the Nazi regime is spreading in Germanoccupied territories, was made by the Vatican radio to-dav.
The announcer declared that the religious situation in Germany was highly unsatisfactory. He condemned the Nazi attitude to the Church. "The threat of a State religion hangs over all religious life in German-occupied territories. This State religion is solely based on the Fuehrer's will and is the only religion he wants in the State. "A State church has been formed in the countries incorporated in the Reich. In Alsace, Austria and Sudeten Germany these tendencies are being enforced to an extreme degree. These countries are to be the model for the spiritual structure of the remainder."'
