TASMAN FLYING BOAT.
AOTEAROA PUTS BACK.
MINOR ADJUSTMENT NEEDED,
Tasman Empire Airways' flying boat Aotearoa, for the first time since the T a.small air service was inaugurated, returned to Auckland, after leaving for Australia this morning, for slight mechanical adjustment. C
Under the command of Captain O. Garden, the Aotearoa first left the harbour shortly after six o'clock, the first delay of a few minutes being due to the time taken in the laying of flares.
Shortly after the take-off Captain Garden decided to return to the base for a minor mechanical adjustment and the flying boat alighted on the harbour again about 0.30. Repairs and testing took only about 20 minutes, and the Aotearoa again left for Sydney at 6.55 a.m.
Mail carried by the flying boat amounted to 13001b. The Aotearoa will return to Auckland to-morrow. Included in tbe passengers are:—Dr. and Mrg. B. M. Johns, Mr. Justice Aitken and Mrs. Aitken, Messrs. I'. Sheffield, L. L. Tuckett, A. (J. Dawson, Mesdames L. Brockett, L. CJ. Bradshaw, Miss F. Kussell-Davis, and Master Johns.
