VICE-REGAL VISIT

FUNCTION ON MONDAY.

Their Excellencies the Goveinor-Gcnc ral, Sir Cyril' Ncwall, and Lady Newa'l arc due to reach Auckland by train to morrow morning in order to pay their first official visit to the city. They will be accompanied by Wing-ciunmander H. Bevan and Captain J. C. Holland-Martin

There will be a civic reception at the Town Hall at 12.15 a.m. on Monday, and a-Naval guard of honour will be present. ' '

TJieir Lxcellenciers will be welcomed by the . Mayor of Auckland, Sir Krncst DaviSj and other speakers will be the Prime Minister, the lit. Hon. P. Fraso.r, on behalf of the Government; the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board. Mr. H. Luke; the president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, Mr L V F.ady; and Mr. I. J. Uoldstine, on behalf of. the Auckland suburban local bodies. An address of welcome has been prepared and handsomely inscribed on parchment, and when thc text hae been read the framed parchment copv will be presented to Sir Cyril.
