CUSTOMS COLLECTIONS
FIGURES FOR FEBRUARY.
Following the trend of recent months, Customs revenue collected in Auckland in February showed a further reduction. The amount was £270,750. against £331.730 in the corresponding month last year, a decrease of £54,980. So far this year the receipts have totalled £.->72.07.">, compared with £720..>40 over the eame period last year.
February collections, with returns for February, 1940. in parentheses, arc: — Customs, £210.210 ( £2455.027) ; motor fipiiit at Cd, £00,.511 (£64.709): tyre duty, £23 ( £-2000K Exi-ise on beer produced £23,240 (£19,900): ami sales tax. £00.743 ( £74,087).
Collections payable to the War Expenses Account in February totalled £81,229, as against £17,1f»4 iii February, 1040. For the two months of this year they were £195,770, compared with £34.307 in the eorreepomlinjr period Uist year.
