CAMPS AFTER MARCH.

MEN FROM RURAL AREAS.

SUGGESTION BY FARMERS. (P.A.) WANGANUI, this day. The opinion that Territorial camps could bo held after March for men recruited from rufal areas was expressed at a meeting of the Wellington Central provincial executive of the Farmers' Union in Marton. Members said that in busy months men were taken away to camp, and in the slack period they were returned. In peace time many regiments held their annual camps after March, and they could see no reason why this could not be continued in war. It was stated that the military authorities argued that in winter it took four months to do a three months' course, but it was considered that that was immaterial.

It was decided to urge the Government to make a change.
