(P.A.) HOKITIKA, this day. The Christmas meeting of the Westland Racing Club was held at Hokitika to-day in fine weather before a large attendance. The course was in good order. Results: — KANIERI HANDICAP of £75. Seven furlongs. I—RACE AWAY. 8.3 1 4—MISS WAITARERE. 8.1 2 3—PHILIBUN. 8.2 3 Scratched: New Note. Metrick. A length; half a length. Time 1.33',a. MAIDEN STAKES of £70. Six furlonss. 2—STOCK EXCHANGE. 8.5 1 3—ROCKERY. 8.5 2 I—THE TRYST. 8.5 3 Scratched: Trench Coat. Monopoly. Halt a length; two. Time. 1.20 1-5. A protest against the placings was entered.
