THE GONDOLIERS.
OPENING NIGHT POSTPONED. Owing to circumstances over which the J. C. Williamson management has no control, the approaching season of the Gilbert and Sullivan Comic Opera Company has had to be deferred until next Thursday, January 2, ♦hen "The Gondoliers" will be produced. Its run will continue until and including Monday, January 0. On Tuesday and the two following evenings "The Pirates of Penzance," which will be preceded by '"Trial by Jury," will be staged, and also at a matinee on Wednesday, January 8. On Friday, January 10, and the three following evenings "The Yeomen of the Guard" will be presented, also on Saturday afternoon, January 11. This opera will be followed in the order named by "Iblanthe," "The Mikado," "Ruddigore" and "H.M.S. Pinafore," which will be preceded by "Cox and Box." In the past New Zealanders have proved that they are behind no one in their loyalty to the works of Gilbert and Sullivan, and the large number of seats that have already been booked for the coming season is a further demonstration of this fact.
