CITY BANK BUILDING.
Owing to moro urgent calls in connection with the nntional war effort, the director* of the Bank of Xew ZeaInn<l have derided to postpone, for the time boiiifr. the building of a proposed block of offices in Queen Street, on a eite adjoining,the bank building at the corner of Queen and Swanson Streets. The building proposal was intended as the first step towards tlie erection of a modern building to replace the one which has boused the Auckland branch of the bank for many years. The directors have fully discuseed the 1 matter and decided, that in view of the many demands on the building industry for essential war work, that the beet interest* of the Dominion would be served .by deferring the building oropoMla. v e
