Two officers of the Royal Xcw Zealand Air Force have been awarded the Air Foroe Crnss according to an official announcement made to-day. Xoticc to this effect is contained in the London "(Jawttc"' of October 11. The officers arc Squadron-leader Harrv Lunisdcn Tancred. from the R.WZ.A.F. station at Ohakea. and Flight-Lieutenant Erik Alfred Anderson Moen. from the R.X.Z.A.F. station at Wigram.
Squadron-Leader Tailored, who vi< born in Australia, is 31 years of ajs?. He was educated at Xel«on College and then went to England, where he was granted a short service commission with tiie R.A.F. He returned to Now Zealand in 1W36 and entered the R.XZA.F. After the outbreak of the war he spent a |teriod at the fly in? instructors' school at Later he was transferred to the R.N'.Z.A.K. station st OhaEea.
Flight-Lieutenant Xloen. who was born at Dunedin, is 30 ye*rs of age. He was educated at the Otago Boys'" High School. He received his pilot'* license in 1932. and in 1033 joined the Xew Zealand Territorial Air Force. Two years later he was appointed to a short service commission in the R.X.Z.A.F. The Air Force Cross has also been awarded to Squadron-Lender Gordon John Grindcll. of the R.A.F., about whom details are unavailable.— <Pre«« Assn.) !
