Euro|>eaii markets for copra were clcved to the islands of the Pacific which prodiu-cd it. and it was now available at a price of l>etwcen £8 and £9 a ton, landed in New Zealand. At this figure it should prove payable for use in conjunction with skim milk, grass and Iwrlev for fattening pigs.
Mr. Clark said the indication!! were that there would lie a shortage of barley this season in Australia, while reports to hand were that Xew Zealand's production also would not be very high. Copra as a substitute for feeding pig* might therefore prove very valuable.
