(By Air.) SYDNEY, October 12. A record hike to join the AXF. was made by Private W. J. Anderson, who walked 513 miles from Bourke to Sydney in 16 days, and had only six substantial meals during that time. He -was so fatigued when he applied to enlist in Sydney that he was first given a good meal. He then passed the Medical Board Al. Recruiting officials had to get sipecial permission to enlist as recruiting has been suspended. During Anderson's long tramp no one offered him a lift.
