AREA COMMANDERS.
ADDITIONAL APPOINTMENTS. WELLINGTON, Monday. Additional appointments of area commanders for the Home Guard were announced by the Minister of National Service, the Hon. R. Semple, to-night. They are as follows:— Area 7, Headquarters at Napier.— Lieutenant J. W. Snaddon. Lieutenant Snaddon served in the Hawke's Bnv Regiinent from 1911 to 1915, and again from 1918 >p 1920. He served with the Expeditionary Force in the Wellington Regiment from 1915 to 1917 with the rank of lieutenant. Area 7A, Headquarters at Gisborne.— Colonel R. F. Gambrill. Colonel Gambrill served with the Wellington Rejriinent from 1915 to 1919, and rose to the rank of major. His name was brought under the notice of the Secretary of State for War for valuable services. After h» return to New Zealand he was promoted to lieutenant-colonel to command the let Battalion, Hawke'g Bay Regiment, and later the 2nd New Zealand Infantry Brigade, with the rank of colonel.— (Frees A sen.)
