LEARNING TO SHOOT. Mrs. Kate Solman, a member of the Women's Mechanised Transport Corps, of London, is doing an additional job of war work, teaching women to shoot. In peace time Mrs. Solman was well known at Bisley. She twice captained the British team in the International Shoot for Women there. Now she is passing on free of charge her knowledge to housewives and business girls to make them rifle minded.

TAPIOCA TOAST. Three cupfufls milk, 2 tablespoonfuls quick cooking tapioca or sago, 1 cupful grated cheese, 1 egg (beaten), salt and pepper,. 6 slices buttered toast. Heat one cupful of milk, add tapioca and cook for ten minutes. Heat remaining milk, add cheese and heat till it is melted. Combine mixtures and add egg and seasonings, stirring constantly. Serve hot on toast.

AN OLD REMEDY. Sage.tea te an old remedy for sore throat. " It is made by taking a dessertspoonful ot sage with sugar to taste, and infusing it. with about half a pint of boiling water. Add a little nutmeg, if you like. Drink the tea as hot as possible.
