STILL OBSCURE.
AIR FORCE RECRUITS.
POSITION UNDER BALLOT.
The position of recruits who hare volunteered for service with the Royal New Zealand Air Force and whose name* are contained in the ballot has not yet been clearly defined, though, a* far as Auckland area is concerned at least, they will not be called upon immediately. The names of men who have volunteered for the Air Force and have not yet been called up were supplied to the area officer to-day by the Air Force, and the medical examination of these men will be deferred pending the acceptance or otherwise of the recruits by the Air Force. However, the fact of the names being withheld from the medical boards in the meantime does not imply that all the recruits will be automatically released from service with the territorials. It was stated that those not accepted would be callec. up for service with the land forces, but there is also the possibility of young men who have enlisted in the Air Force, and who are not likely to be called upon within a reasonable time, being required to give territorial service.
In the Auckland area alone there'arc 100 recruits who will be affected by decisions reached regarding the calling
jp ill the ballot of enlisted Air Forcc recruits.
