From a literary point of view the book is uniformly excellent. Its completeness and authoritative value as a source of information arc impaired by some strange omissions. There is no reference, for example, to two prominent churches in Auckland, even in the index. Then, though in the register of ministers purporting to give their honours and distinctions, where tlicy have them, a good deal is to be found about some of them, even of their relatives, others are only baldly mentioned. A case in point is that of a minister still in service. He is well known and figures in the New Zealand "Who's Who" as at one time the minister of an Auckland church, and, before that, as the minister of prominent churches in the United Kingdom, and as the author of two books; yet the compiler of the register seems to have practically no knoweldge of him.
