ROOPE ROOSTER COMPETITION AT CARLAW PARK.
The Auckland Rugby League last night made arrangements for a complete series of matches this week in the Roope Rooster (knock-out) competition. The chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, stated that all four games would be played at Carlaw Park and that clubs defeated would take part in the Phelan Shield contest. Mr. E. K. Asher. secretary of the City Club, furnished an interesting report on the visit of two teams to Stratford last Saturday. The senior team was defeated by Stratford by 9 points to 5. The club greatly appreciated the hospitality shown to the visitors. Mr. Campbell reported that the military authorities would take over the use of Carlaw Park next week for the purpose of territorial training.
