LARGE VEGETABLE SUPPLY. GREEN PEAS DEMANDED. Nearly all vegetables were i& heavy supply at tihe City Markets to-day. An early spring .and warm raine have brought vegetables on more quickly than is ueual for fhis time of the year. Good supplies or new potatoes fetched 'high prices, ae aLso did a email consignment of usparague. A small delivery of green peas ulso met with a keen sale. Hothouse cucumbers were in fair supply, bringing fair rates. For most other linee t/he average of prices was lower. Fruit.—Apples: Granny Smith, 6/ to 7/ case; Delicious, 4/6 to 6/; Sturmer, 6/; Red Delicious, II to 8/. Pears: Winter Nelis, 11/ to 4/6; P. Barry, 9/ to 10/6. Tomatoes: Hothouse, 9d to 1/6 lb. Oranges: Kerikeri, 14/ to 18/ case. Bananas: Repacked, ripe, 25/ to 27/. Tree tomatoes: New Black, 8/ to 11/; yellow, 6/ to 9/6. Mannalade oranges: 4/ to 6/. Grapefruit: New Zealand, 6/ to 9/; small, 4/ to 5/. Lemons: 6/6 to 15/6 three-quarter 'bushel, according to grade and count. Passion fruit--10/ to 18/. Poultry. At to-day's auctions the supply of poultry was medium and tho demand keen ail round, with prices about the same afi at tho previous sale.
