Dr. C. E. Bceby, Director of Education, will return to Wellington by the Limited express to-night.
Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, returned south by the Limited express last night.
Professor P. W. Burbidgc, of the Auckland University College, returned from Wellington by'train this morning.
The. Hon. E. R. Davis, M.L.C.. was a passenger from Wellington by the Limited express this morning.
Mr. G. M. Telfer, of Christchiirch, ha* been re-elected Dominion president of the Xew Zealand Highland Pipe Bands' Association.
Mr. C. E. Critchley. Trade Coramis sioner for Australia in Xew Zealand, arrived from Wellington by the Limited express this morning.
Mr. Arthur Telford Donnelly. C.M.G.. has been appointed to the Expeditionary Force Canteen and Regimental Fund* Trust Board (Great Wart, replacing the late Colonel A. E. Stewart, according tc a Gazette notice.—(Press Asen.)
Dr. C. J. Rolls, who visited Xew Zealand in 1936, after spending six month" in Abyssinia during the Italian war. is on a brief vacation in Auckland. For the pact three years Dr. Roll* has been Dean of the Missionary and Bible College, Croyden, Xew South Wales.
