MAORI TEAM TO PLAY THE AUCKLAND XIII.

The principal match at Carlaw Park tomorrow afternoon will be between the Auckland and Maori representative teams, a fixture which is causing much interest in League circles. When the two teams met earlier in the season, Auckland won by 10 points to 7. Auckland will be represented by a strong forward division. With Flanagan included, the thirteen will have a recognised hooker, nnil capable players in Shadbolt and Davis for the front row. Milliken. the New Zealand representative player. J. Gunning and K. will complete the pack. C. Williams, t>f Richmond, has again been chosen as scrum half, with a line pi.votnl player in Banham for the stand-off position. With Graham, of Richmond, and Kay, of Ponsonby, for the inside positions, the wings. Smith, of Xorth Shore, aud Nurse, of Ponsonby, should be well served. Auckland's full-back will be Verdun Scott. There are five Manukau plavers in the Maori backs —Martin, Chase, Hemi, Butler and Mahiuia—and good combination is anticipated. The five-eighth line will consist of D. Solomon and J. B. Donaldson, two of the best in the game in the position, and players who go well together. The Maori forwards are heavy and fast. 11. Mataira, P. Kirinui and G. Mitchell were chosen for the Xew Zealand team last year, and should be well supported by W. Mataira. McLeod and Tristram. The proceeds of the match will be for the injured players' fund.
