SHARE THE PRIDE.
N.Z. CONGRATULATES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. "We can share the pride of the Australian people in the victory of the Sydney in the same way as, last year, the Australians shared our deep satisfaction in the part played by the Achilles in the action against the Graf Spee," said the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, in an interview* last night. "The news of the Sydney's success has been received in New Zealand with the greatest enthusiasm as further proof of the prowess of the Empire's naval forces. It is particularly pleasing to receive the report that there -were no British casualties. "If the Axis Powers required any proof of the solidarity of the British Commonwealth in the present grim struggle, they had it on Friday off Crete, as they had it in December at the River Plate. It is clear that the only argument Hitler and Mussolini can understand and appreciate is the force of British arms on land, in the air and on the sea,"
