VOLUNTARY CENSORSHIP.
(Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, July 21. Mr. A. Duff Cooper, Minister of Information, announced that the present system of voluntary censorship would be continued. Plans for a Press Censorship Board had been abandoned. The Minister told the Press Advisory Committee that he never intended to interfere with the free expression of opinion, but had considered various alternative* to the present system of censorship. Immediately after hearing the views of the committee he decided that a censorship board would be so unwelcome to the that it ought not to be further considered.
