ON 'CHANGE.

WEEK OPENS QUIETLY. VALUES LITTLE CHANGED. Values were little changed at the opening call of the week on the Auckland Stock Exchange this morning. There was still a preponderance of buyers, with sellers aloof. Only two sales were completed, and they were at unchanged figures. While the safe figure of New Zealand Insurance was the same, the bidding was a shade easier. Buyers at £2 19/6 are 5d lower, while holders are steady at £3. South British Insurance are also a little lower. Buyers at £2 6/ and sellers at £2 8/6 compare with £2 6/9 and £2 9/ on Friday.

Brighter Noon Call. The tone was distinctly brighter at the noon call and more business took place. There were seven sales, one of which was a 1913-46 Government Stock at £103. The rise in their market is shown by reference to the previous sale, which took place on July 2 at £102 12/6. South British Insurance picked up a little, buyers advancing their offers 3d to £2 6/3, and holders conceding a like amount to be willing to sell at £2 8/3. Considerable interest has been shown lately in Keid Rubber rights. Another sale took place at this call at 4/, which has been the sale level for some days past.
