THREE RUGBY MATCHES AT EDEN PARK.
Now nearing the end of the firet round, ,diich decided the relegation and promotion of tearne in the two senior divisions of the Rugby championship, to-morrow's games will' be followed with interest. Three good contests are in prospect at Eden Park. In the front of the grandstand Suburbs and North Shore will meet and their style of play may produce aa open game. Suburbs etarted off the season brightly, while Shore's teamwork hae been improving. When they met ln*t year Shore had the distinction of being the firet team to defeat Suburbs after the latter's promotion. There will be a change in the Suburbs' backs, Green taking the place of Burke between the Brady brothers.
Marist expect to field the same team a* last Saturday against Technical on No. 2 ground and will again be without the services of Hare at full-back. Marist gave a very convincing display last week when they took the lead In the championship. Though they are a solid team Marist probably do not outweigh some of the other sides. The average weight of the forwards is 12.11 and of the backs 12.3. Hare and Curtayne
are big men behind the scrum, but the others are only average size. The average ase of the players 1» just over U'J years. Technical, after their substantial defeat of Suburbs, should make a good showing against last year's champions.
Though beaten by Training College last week, Ciramniar held the lead until the last spell when the speed and brilliance of the opposing backs beat thorn. Reinforced by Tottey, the ex-Australian Itujrby League player, Ornmmar backs may hold the Grafton opposition : there are some grafters, too. in the forwards to combat the opposing pack. Schubert, last season's brilliant winger, will reappear in the Uruftoii backs, while Mills will return to the pack in place of Don, who has gone to camp. Otahuliu and Artillery meet at Sturges Park, and Training College and Infantry at the Showgrounds ; in both games the Army teams will meet strong opposition. The teams are :—- MARIST.—MoIIoy.
