The shooting eeasonfor pheasants and California!! and Australian quail, which opened on "May 4, will conclude on Sunday. The results obtained by sportsmen in most difitrit'ts of tho province are stated to have been consistently good and . some excellent bags have been secured in the Paeroa, Kaglan, Otorohanga and Wellsford districts.
