The retaking of Arras-in this war, recalls the fact that in 1917 «o; many men lost their sight in the Battle of j Arras that the War Office aent an officer out to persuade the commander* to make their men use the then visor invented by Sir Richard. . .{ ; The new visor is said,to be proof against fragmentation,;; the \ primary cause of blindness in the last win The visor has been tested by other Service Departments, and may be adopted i . generally for use by the Admiralty, the J Air * Ministry" and" by the Home Office J for A.R.P. workers. •
